MedAxiom Partners with the American College of Cardiology to Become Reseller of Cardiosource Plus for Practices

NEPTUNE BECH, FL – June 19, 2009 – MedAxiom announced this week that it has signed an agreement with the American College of Cardiology (ACC) to become a reseller for the new Cardiosource Plus for Practices service. Cardiosource Plus for Practices is a subscription service providing online education to physicians and the patient care team within the practice. MedAxiom’s agreement is an exclusive 6-month pilot program ending November 31, 2009.

“We feel that we are the best partner for the ACC to market this new subscription service to private practices across the U.S. with 300 plus cardiology practices, most of them privately owned, as members of our organization,” states Jim Gann, VP – Marketing for MedAxiom. “With our penetration in private practice cardiology, it makes good sense for the ACC to start with our member practices.”

The exclusive agreement provides nearly a 20% discount to MedAxiom members through the pilot period that cannot be obtained anywhere else, even directly through the ACC. The agreement will be revisited at the end of the 6-month pilot period and may open up to other resellers or remain with MedAxiom.

MedAxiom will connect its members who subscribe to Cardiosource Plus for Practices through its existing private web portal application. With just a single sign-on to the Cardiosource Plus for Practice product, all future visits will seamlessly connect the user from the MedAxiom portal site to the open access online educational and information resource site managed by the ACC.

MedAxiom’s private web portal application, the MedXpert Knowledgebase, already provides online education, information sharing and networking opportunities for its practice management members. This next step toward bringing in the patient care team and physicians will help streamline applications used within the practice.

“In addition to supporting our existing partnership with the ACC, we are also providing a valuable service for our members,” says Jennifer Linville, CEO of MedAxiom. “We continuously look to add value to the relationships we have with our members, as does the ACC. We feel this will be a very positive program for both organizations. It will expand our service offerings and achieve our goals of being a relevant partner with our members.”
